Artistically, these pieces presented an excellent opportunity to explore muscial 'theme and variations', as I decided to base them all upon the Rolex signature composition 'Timed To Perfection'. As well as reinforcing a 'sonic brand signature' for the on-line experience, this approach also enabled a bridged continuity to offline campaigns. In the specific case of Daytona, the melody is stated sparcely with a punctuating violin section to continue the orchestral instrumentation intended to illustrate the traditional and aspirational qualities of Rolex. This is set within the framework of modern drum bed, resonant sound design, and quick 'metalic inspired' transitional elements, to both enhance the impact of the pictures and to strap this time-piece firmly into it's exciting racing heritage.
